But it is still the same case. Without knowing details if one needs protection from the other then their seems to be some type of adversarial situation between the two. Hence, a reason to bifricate. BUT AGAIN JUST TALKING OUTLOUD.

Wouldn't the Co-debtor have a claim against the debtor? Do any of the post petition claim rules apply or would this be considered a prepetition debt?

right. co-debtor. who will go after the debtor to collect if the collection company attempts to collect against the co-debtor, which is why there is a special stay for co-debtors when the debtor is in a chapter 13. Am I missing something in your fact pattern?
