Steven, the IRS never does that unless there's some kind of natural
disaster and they voluntarily extend the deadline. I would do some
more research first.

Tax gurus:
I have a case where the 2008 tax return was filed in June 2009 and there
is no Code 460 Extension of Time to File date in the record, and above
the codes and explanation of transactions it states "Return due date or
return received date whichever is later - June 22, 2009."
I take it by the lack of the 460 code and the writing above they merely
filed the return late without an extension and hence I can file this
case in July and this tax year obligation (all other factors being
satisfied) will be discharged.
Thanks,
Steve
