Translators For 341a Meetings
Some of you are probably aware but US Trustee announced at the LACBA Bankruptcy Committee meeting today (and asked to spread the word) that Trustee's now have the ability to connect with translators, if needed, at the 341a Meeting of Creditors.
Ch. 13 and Ch 7 Trustees present at the lACBA meeting suggested that if your client is going to need a Translator, call the Ch 7/13 Trustee's office ahead of time as it will save time at the meeting of creditors. It's done by phone do it takes a couple of minutes to set up and if a less widely spoken language is needed, it could take longer.
Nothing from stopping Debtor from continuing to bring their own translator, but the service (free of charge) is now available.
