As a rule we have all clients make checks out to CHAPTER 13 TRUSTEE, additionally when there were Trustee switches it saved problems.

Question:
Is this just Riverside Trustee being difficult generally, or Riverside Trustee being difficult for LA based attorneys specifically? Any thoughts?

Ten days later I received a letter from the Trustee's office stating that my client was delinquent, so I had her fax a copy of the cashier's check to me to see what the problem was. Everything looked fine except that she had spelled the Trustee's first name as Ron instead of Rod. I logged onto the Trustee's site and saw that the payment had not been processed, so I called his office. I told the staff person of the inadvertent misspelling, and was assured that it wouldn't be a problem.

Dear List mates,
I have a word of caution for your Chapter 13 clients in the Riverside Division. I have a client who has made 24 plan payments just like clockwork. She sent in her 25th payment - the February payment - on the first of the month, as usual.
My client just called to tell me that the Trustee's office had returned the check to her with a letter stating that they couldn't process it. The odd thing is we receive personal checks with typos, from clients, and the bank never has any problem accepting them.
In any event, make sure that your Riverside Chapter 13 clients send their plan payments in without typographical errors.
