Motion to confirm?

I disagree with this answer. Judge Z was trying to stop all of the requests for continuances each month. He kicked them out to make sure you and I could get our ducks in a row before confo.
He is very practical and would grant a motion, but a stip would be easier, as it would get the trustee to agree, which is what a chapter 13 judge needs to see anyway.

Sorry, didn't answer second part, Yes you will have to appear. Judge Z believes the RARA requires an appearance at confo.

Jay:
When Judge Z put the confo calendar out to one year, he expected the trustees to move the cases up that were ready to be confirmed. I spoke to him about it when he kicked the hearings out so far. Unfortunately for our cash flow, and our clients peace of mind, that has not happened.
I haven't filed a motion to advance the confirmation, but I would start by calling one of the staff lawyers for the Trustee and ask how they suggest you do it. I would suggest a stipulation to advance the confirmation hearing date with the trustee. Unfortunately you will have to file an order approving the stip, and give 28 days notice (another cost), but that would work.

Everybody just waits for Judge Zurzolo's confirmation hearings. I believe
he wants to see if the debtor can last more than a few months before he
will confirm a plan. I do not think the court would respond favorably to a
motion to move up the confirmation hearing, but if you do the motion please
post the outcome. Thanks.

You will need to talk to the Trustee. If everything is done, you can file a
declaration that the case is ready to be confirmed and the hearing will be
moved up.

Jay:
If you get "consent" with the Trustee, that is to say there are no
outstanding objections, VZ has a hearing in advance of the confirmation
where he confirms the case well in advance of the scheduled date. If
not, you MUST have all your ducks in a row when you finally get to
confirmation or the case will be tossed (dismissed).
