Auto surrender Lender filed an insurance claim?

Secured lenders are named as "other insured" on the borrower's auto policy. This would likely allow them to make a claim under the policy for body damage just as the debtor could. I do not see how this is a claim against the debtor or could create any liability for the debtor.

VW credit filed an claim with the Debtors' insurance company. Is that appropriate?

The Debtor was not told the nature of the claim. I can only assume body damage. The auto was in the same condition on the date of filing the petition as the day VW piked up the car. Is making an insurance claim on a Debtor's insurance the same as making a claim against the Debtor?
