Listmates:
For those of you who work on tax dischargeability cases I think I have
some distressing news.
Normally I call the IRS practitioner's hotline and get a live agent who
takes my order for the Account Transcripts. I would receive a fax in 48
hours.
Now we just tried it and they have a maze of prompts that cascades
through a series of voicemail messages you need to leave to process the
request.
At the end it says "Either you or your client will receive the
transcripts within 10 business days."
First, that's a lot longer, and second, I don't trust it to actually
perform.
If any of you know the IRS commissioner personally, please give me
his/her direct number.
Or, if you know of a better way to get transcripts I'd sure like to
know.
