Present Value of Structured Stock Sale in MSA

Larry:
You are correct. I list all assets at market value. If you sell it, what would a willing buyer pay. Was the structure based on a presumed interest rate? What is the source of payment? Interest rate and risk are two significant factors. There has to be a market for these things. I wonder if any of our members know someone who could value it.
BTW: Why is the client filing for bk? Is he looking to have the trustee liquidate this asset and the business and deal with the creditors? (Larry and Wes are probably still salivating after reading your facts.)

Present Value of Structured Stock Sale in MSA

Family law crossover.
PC is in disso proceedings. A partial MSA has been filed regarding sale to
spouse of closely held stock. PC is to receive $860K in structured
payments. PC has received first year's payment. As I understand it the
outstanding structured sale is an asset that is listed on Schedule B at
Present Value, perhaps discounted. Do I have that correct?
