Dear Pat,
I assume that Dionne Warwick filed in New Jersey because she still doesn't know the way to San Jos. And for those of you who are too young to get that reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?vzsHwVRL06R8.
It's a pity that the Psychic Friends Network she used to shill for couldn't have foreseen this and warned her. Unfortunately, there appears to be some sort of psychic kryptonite that impairs their psychic powers when it comes to predicting bankruptcies - including their own (http://www.slate.com/ar

Good point. The way it was written up, it is implied that tax debt is her
problem. Still, she must have a really clean house.

Does the means test apply or is this a primarily nonconsumer debt
case? If the latter, her income/expenses are largely irrelevant.

According to an article in the LA Times, Dionne Warwick has a filed a Ch 7
in NJ due to her IRS and FTB debt of $10.7m. Monthly income is listed as
$20,950 and miraculously her monthly expenses are $20,940. These expenses
include $5k/month for housekeeping (clearly this is a category I have
overlooked in figuring my clients' expenses - going forward they will all
spend (as needed) up to 25% of their monthly gross for housekeeping) and
$4k/month for her personal asst. Her representative claims her debt is due
to negligent and gross financial mismanagement. (All presumably before he
was her representative.) Based on her Schedule J expenses, her poor jmt
in selecting her financial advisors has continued in her selection of her bk
atty.
The writer ended the article with this line: Sounds like she needs someone
to say a little prayer for her.
For those of you who are too young to get the writer's joke:
