Need answer this evening 7/26 - is expected sign on bonus considered an asset or income?

I agree with Steve, with the additional thought that even if contractual its mostly contingent on some occurrence or performance. Also as I recall, if its a commission based on some formula its income when earned, not when paid. Like a realtor with pending escrows.
Perhaps list it on Schedule I, para 13 re future earnings?
