Update: Accountants and Lawyers: is someone with a BBA in accounting
allowed to call themselves an "accountant" when they are not a CPA (but are
an Enrolled Agent)? Is this an "accountant" that must be hired formally
under 11 USC 327 as an "accountant" or is this a bookkeeper
(paraprofessional)? (I was under the impression this person was a
bookkeeper but just saw the resume.) I am filing the employment app
regardless. I just want to know what I am dealing with and whether this is
an accountant or a bookkeeper. She calls herself an accountant.

The short answer is yes. The bookkeeper is not an employee of the Debtor and is generally considered a professional. As such, an application should be filed.

Small mom and pop shop. Confirmation was denied because UST pointed out
some issues with books. Judge said debtor needs a "mentor" to clean up the
quickbooks. When I suggested filing a motion to employ a CPA judge said
just get a mentor. Debtor's principals want to have their personal
bookkeeper clean up the books but she will charge. Do I need an employment
app for this bookkeeper?
