Is a bookkeeper a professional that needs to be

I hold a BBA in Accountancy and know that I could have practiced as an
accountant. Whether I became a Certified Public Accountant would have been
up to me (I would have had to pass the CPA test and satisfied the
experience requirements, e.g., auditing hours). So, yes, it would have
been an accountant.
