Procedural questions re filing a motion to allow amendment to a complaint

I am filing a motion to allow an amendment to my complaint in an adversary
proceeding. (Debtor is plaintiff in this student loan case and I need to
add defendants. Other defendants have already answered, so procedurally I
cannot just file an amended complaint without asking permission from the
court.)
I am attaching a copy of the proposed amended complaint to the Motion. I
am assuming that I don't actually file the amended complaint with the court
or request for alias summons until the judge hears my motion, correct? And
then I file and serve them right away once I get the order and the alias
summons issued?
