1. Have to file the request for entry of default first, the motion for default judgment does not obviate the former procedure. Form on court website.
2. Request for entry of default can be filed electronically now (has to be for most of us actually).

Request for Clerk to Enter Default under LBR 7055-1(a)

List mates:
I need to take a default in an 11 U.S.C. 506 with Judge VZ. It's been awhile since I've done one.
On the Motion for Default, Item #7, it has 2 choices: a. The default of Defendant has not yet been entered, but is hereby requested, or b. was entered on [blank]
My questions are:
1. Do we still need to do a Request for Default to the Court Clerk, or does this choice on #7 obviate that former procedure? I don't see in the form for the Default Judgment where it is indicated that the default was taken, it merely grants relief for the stripping just like a Motion.
2. It used to be that the Request for Default to the Clerk has to be hand delivered or mailed to the clerk, it could not be electronically filed. Is that still the case?
Thank you
