Link is correct, but what if a bfp purchases at the sale? Need to record petition with the County Recorder's Office prior to tax auction.

No. If the bankruptcy is filed a minute before the sale takes place, then the sale is a violation of section 362. While it would be unlikely the sale was willful, and it would take some work to fix the paperwork, the sale would be void.
