Trustee is paid based on distributions to creditors, section 326. That is why we hear this crap that trustees "paid over $10 gazillion dollars to creditors last year." When they sell the home and pay the first, that is a distribution to creditors.

When determining the chapter 7 liquidation value of real property with a
mortgage, how is the trustee's fee calculated?
1. What is the % rate of the trustee's fee? Where can I look it up?
2. What is the basis for trustee's fee? Is it
- The sale price of the property?
- Net proceeds from the sale after costs of sale are paid?
- Net proceeds after costs of sale and the mortgage are paid?
- Net proceeds after costs of sale, the mortgage, and the capital
gain tax are paid?
- Net proceeds after costs of sale, the mortgage, and the capital
gain tax are paid and the exemption is paid out to the debtor?
