Discharge of Taxes

I would mail a copy of the 341a notice and discharge to the IRS
insolvency unit in Philadelphia. Then wait a couple of weeks and
call the local special procedures department, unless your client is
in an extreme rush, in which case you can try calling special
procedures first. It is possible that the bankruptcy is in their
system despite not being listed on the schedules, and the tax may
already have been abated.

Discharge of Taxes

I met with a PC that went through a chapter 7 and received a discharge last year. The attorney that filed the case did not list the debtor's tax liability, a majority of which appears to be dischargable. what course of action would be recommended to attempt to discharge the taxes? Can the debtor show the bk discharge to the IRS and ask for a determination that the taxes are discharged. Would it be better to file a complaint to determine dischargability?
