rumor that Ch7 trustees taking underwater homes, renting & negotiating with bank

Someone who holds herself out as being able to help negotiate loan mods with Chase told me yesterday that some LA trustees are taking the debtors' underwater home, kicking out the debtors, renting to tenants, and negotiating with bank to, at a minimum, hang onto the rents they collected. I recall a thread from a year or so ago and got the impression then that the trustee might be taking a big chance by doing this. I have not seen any of the Northern Division trustees try this. Anybody seen any of this stuff???
