Ladies and Gents:
We are a private, voluntary bar. The state bar is a mandatory bar, which cannot charge for nonessentials (no hyphen). There is no such limitation to private bars.
The listserve is for the discussion of legal issues
Please, if you must complain about a policy of the cdcbaa, do not make 280+ other lawyers open an email to read your complaint. That is a waste of a lot of attorney time.

Dear Colleagues!
As you can tell from our last seminar, cdcbaa is continually growing rather fast. It is for this reason that the Board is requesting all returning members to pay their 2012 dues ASAP -- and definitely before the next cdcbaa seminar of February 4th. There are 3 methods to pay: 1) by mail per the attached 2012 members application, 2) through our excellent website located at www.bklawyers.org or to our excellent administrator, Linda, at the upcoming seminar at the seminar reception desk.
Based on this policy, only paid members will be allowed to attend the upcoming seminar.
KEITH HIGGINBOTHAM
2012 cdcbaa President
