Liquidation value is likely lower than the appraised value. Also, have you looked into applying the $8,000 works of art exemption to the rug?e.

He has Persian rug appraisal says worth 25K.... cant exempt due to 704 exemptions. he wants to sell and try to settle debts... but if doesn't work to settle debts and he has to file..... will chapter 7 trustee make him pay back the money he got for the rug?
