Mark,
Typically, there is docket entry for "ORDER discharging chapter 13 panel trustee and exonerate bond liability"Ifno discharge isavailable, then there is a docket entryfor "order closing case without discharge" after the discharge of trustee.

Lately in several Ch. 13 cases I've received a document titled "Discharge of Trustee and Order Closing Case" mailed out by the Trustee, and signed by the court clerk.
However, this notice is sent out prior to the debtor's discharge being entered and I can tell by looking at the docket that the case is still open.
I have one Ch. 20 client now who is not entitled to a discharge, badgering me several times a day for an explanation of why I think her case isn't closed when the document clearly states that it is.
Does anyone have an explanation for why this form is sent out and what it means? Does it just mean the case is closed--as to the Ch. 13 Trustee?
