Have you ever had the Trustee administer real estate located in a foreign
country? My prospective client owns an apartment in Sofia, the capital of
Bulgaria. Would a trustee be interested in trying to sell the apartment? DCS

Duane:
The trustee can sell the apartment if the USA has the proper treaty with Bulgaria.
Now you have to look that up.
Really, the trustee would settle for pennies if your client has the money, or a place to borrow it. Ask your client the value in american dollars, then figure a hefty discount for hiring an attorney, a broker, filing a foreign proceeding in Bulgaria.....etc.
you get the picture. It is possible, but very expensive. So if a trustee is so inclined, the trustee will take a settlement.
