I've done this once before. Called the trustee and had the debtor answer written interrogatories under penalty of perjury, prepared by T'ee because he wasn't here for the 341(a). If LA is her home, it would be filed accordingly. Mail in my case, was handled through his wife who would send it to the base, so maybe you could do the same or expedite it somehow. The trustee was very accommodating.

I have not found any official form or guidelines in region 16.
I have found guidelines from other trustee regions.
Trustees in other districts allow a motion to appear by telephone if the
basis for the motion is the debtors incapacitating medical condition,
incarceration, or military assignment out of the area, and the debtors
circumstances are not likely to change within a reasonable time.
This will involve a special motion with a verification of identity by a
third party as well as other requirements.
I can send you the pdf document if you would like. It is from the western
district of washington. Call the Trustees office if nobody on the list
serve can help.
I hope this is helpful.

I have a client in the Marines who is heavy in debt and ships out to Japan again in a couple weeks.
Does anyone know if there is availability at these foreign bases where she would be able to file for bankruptcy?
She has not lived in California for a couple years but Los Angeles is her home. If I filed for her here she would not even still be here for the 341a meeting.
Anyone familiar with this senario?
Thanks.
