Happy Holidays to All,
Judge Tighe finished her Chapter 7 Employment Brown Bag circuit last
week, providing us with an open forum from Santa Barbara to Riverside,
Orange County, Los Angeles and Woodland Hills, during which to express
our opinions, concerns, and ideas about Chapter 7 Employment
practices. Judge Tighe forwarded some materials for further
discussion that were posted to the "Files" and in particular to the
Chapter 7 Folder - under Employment. Please take the time to review
the files and to provide comments.
The Outline provides a detailed look into the legal, ethical and
factual issues of concern to the court, in particular, the unbundling
of services through the Limited Scope of Appearance form that requires
updating. There is not only the outline, but the legal basis
upon which Judge Tighe (and the other judges) are thinking about a
RARA for Chapter 7 practice (an initial draft of which was prepared by
Erik Clark's firm for review and comment). The Outline is saved in
both Word Perfect Format and PDF and must be downloaded. Your comments
and concerns are anticipated, as certainly something will be
implemented and we have the opportunity to participate.
My comments will follow in due course. Please keep your comments
non-personal in nature. Limit your opinions and comments to actual
real time real life concerns. If possible, if you have a certain
legal or ethical opinion, please give some authority.
Best regards. Happy Holidays and thank you all so much for the
opportunity to serve as your President during this past year. May
next year be a healthy and prosperous New Year.
Lou Esbin
