We have multiple scans of our Email, and that one had malware
and several different nasty programs attached to it. Probably they
figured people would send that Email around.

FYI. I heard but cannot confirm that a prominent law firm in town got
burned to the tune of several MILLION on one of those scams.
Overseas company hires firm to negotiate collection of an account on
a contingency basis. Firm writes letters makes threats and settles
the case within a matter of a few weeks for say $3million. Defendant
sends a cashier's check. Firm deposits the three mil to the trust
account, waits a week or so, and sends wire txfr to the client
overseas of $2million, and keeps $1million fee.
Cashier's check turns out to be a forgery, which firm does not get
notice of for something like a MONTH. Guess who owes their trust
account/bank $2 million?
I'm told by a lawyer I met in court a few days ago that this actually
happened recently to Sidley and Austin, but I have no idea if it is
true.

If thats all the junk mail you are getting, then you are lucky. I'm on the list for urgent need of Viagra and every other ED medicine, etc. in the world. I starting to think somehow the fac that I'm winning the lottery every day has something to do with ED.

Am the only one that gets "IN NEED OF YOUR LEGAL SERVICES URGENTLY" emails
from Taiwan, et.al.? Of course, they are escrow account fraud/hoax/scams,
but it's just interesting to note that I/we are on some lawyer target
list... my personal email accounts don't get this flavor of salty spam.

Of course, we're intelligent enough to not fall for them, but some lawyers
do.
