Dennis has done a terrific job and deserves a great deal of credit for his
time commitment to the project. I thought that there were two or three
others who were sharing this burden, but I see that I was mistaken. That
having been said and with tremendous gratitude to Dennis for not only his
efforts on the list serve, but also his invaluable assistance to me in
establishing this group, I remain opposed to any form of censorship.
Realizing that different people have different interests, nacba resolved
this problem by creating a number of different listserves so that those who
want to engage in discussions about Chapter 11 or about political matters or
about office management issues each have their own discussion groups. We
are too small for this so tolerance remains the key.

Subject: RE: [cdcbaa] Listserve Protocol
Donny et al:
The CDCBAA listserve was set up when I was president in 2004. We had no
computer people and I just set it up. We did not set up a protocol, so we
set it up to moderate people as they joined, then move people to unmoderated
status.
I had some help for the first few years doing the moderation, but have been
the only person moderating for the last couple of years.
Unfortunately, this means if I am not near a computer some of the messages
are not sent out as quickly as you may like. Last week I was in Vail and
there were apparently a few miffed about their emails not going out.
I wrote to Jim, the King of Bk, this week and told him he may want the board
to review the situation. We can have immediate unmoderated status, but we
do not have a method, on Yahoo, to continuously post the protocol, like
Nacba does. Of course, that won't really solve the problem, cause when
people break the protocol, some action has to be taken or the protocol
dissolves.
Jim has been telling me this year that this year's board is setting up a
listserve which will be on the group's website, not Yahoo. I am hoping
that happens quickly as moderating has been a difficult, time-consuming job
and I have now had it for five years.
