in 91, right afterthe earhquake they closed everyting. I hand filed a petition by giving it to Judge Ashland. He took the petition and gave me a copy with his handwritten note the accepted the case.
Find a judge.

I was retained late last week to stay a foreclosure sale tomorrow, Tuesday.
With the weekend's outage, I was counting on today to get the emergency
petition filed. When this morning's ECF was s-l-o-w, I had to make the
decision to just give up waiting and hand-deliver the petition to the clerk.
And now this outage.
(I figured I dodged a bullet in my supreme wisdom to not put all my eggs in
the ECF basket, but alas! The person called me from the clerk's window..
they're not filing there either.. it'll be a 30-60 minute delay as I suppose
they use ECF there at the clerk's window also).
I guess, like anything, we can't appreciate something until it's gone (or
broken). But this problem with ECF being unavailable for 3 of the last 4
days is one that raises concerns.
