Pay advices for roommate whose income contributes to household

Client lives with girlfriend. Girlfriend's income is provided by her
parents. I understand that her income gets included in household income for
means test (she supports client), but what about proof of income? Do I need
to ask client to get copies of cancelled checks showing deposits of income
from her parents?
