Client unavailability for 341 meeting

When my husband worked for FEMA he was still able to fly home for 1 or 2 days for an emergency here. I don't know what the guy does for FEMA but generally its paperwork during the 90 days after a disaster. They aren't digging people out of rubble or swamps for 90 days, they have huge rooms full of computers at a convenient location and they are solving problems or processing claims. You can send a copy of the FEMA deployment paperwork to the trustee if it happens and request written interrogs.
When my elderly clients are not mobile or have Ahlzheimers --we present a doctor's report, letter from doctor requesting non-appearance and request that the trustee send written interrog. We send our special requests the minute we know the trustee and the date of the 341 (a). The trustees are cooperative.

In this economy, with these facts, if any trustee does not cooperate,
let us know. The graybeards will all complain to Peter Anderson.

Contact the trustee and explain the
situation. Some trustees will continue a meeting with no problem.
Others will continue a meeting, but will count the first meeting as the
clients one free no show. In your case, 90 days is a pretty long time
to continue a meeting. I suggest you request that the meeting of
creditors be held via written interrogatories/notarized
questionnaire. The chapter trustee will have to get permission from
the OUST but I have been successful at doing this numerous times. This,
of course, assumes that your client will have access to a notary and fax/email
while he is away working for FEMA.

I had a client once with a phobia on travel. She couldn't even get

case-of course!) The ch7 trustee allowed for a notarized 341 by

Client unavailability for 341 meeting

Prospective client may be given a 10 day period by FEMA to report for work
for 90 days out of state. He cannot leave without losing that job at that
point and he has been unemployed for about six months. He is concerned
about filing bk, getting a 341 meeting scheduled, and then finding out that
he has to report for work. If the 341 meeting falls within his 90 day
deployment, is there a way to request the trustee to reschedule the 341
meeting?
Thanks.
