Question: when case becomes more complex after signing up the client...
It is hard to cocounsel. Malpractice liability would flow from either direction. Usually if I am asked, I give advice for free and tell you to do the work.
If someone wants out, client pays a postpetition retainer, which requires a motion to approve.
