If a foreclosing lender has two voluntary liens on a property and forecloses on the senior lien, they are not precluded by 580d from collecting on the unpaid junior lien. This overrules Simon v. Superior Court (1992) 4 Cal.App.4th 63, 66, but this time the Supremes did not have to go back to the 19th century to find controlling precedent, instead they only when to the middle of the 20th century.
