Arsen:
The Trustee can ask as many questions as he or she wants. Most
Trustees, however, will limit creditors to a short time because they
want to get on with their calendar and a 2004 exam can be applied for to
the judge. If a Trustee is interested though, he or she can let the
creditor go on and on.
If you find any authority for your proposition that keeps a Trustee from
asking questions for long, let me know, but I seriously doubt it exists.

The longest 341a I have had went 95 minutes. And it was continued numerous times. I am no longer on that case but I know that the 341A has not been concluded, many months after I left the case and more than a year since the filing. I do not believe there is a maximum length.

Maximum Length of a 341(a) Examination

I was 30 minutes into the 3rd 341(a) examination, when I told the Trustee that the examination needs to stop because of its length. I told him that if he wants to ask more questions, he needs to file a motion with the court (Rule 2004). I told him that there was a basis in the rules for my actions. I thought the rules said that a 341(a) examination needs to be "brief". However, I can't seem to find that word in the rules. Can anyone point me towards some rule or precedent which says that a Rule 2004 motion is necessary after a 341(a) examination has gone too far? Trustee asked over 60 questions. Thank you.
