Elderly Client has some old California state and federal income tax debts.
Client is receiving SSI and has no property. Each taxing authority has
filed a tax lien. Assuming that tax debts are or would be dischargeable,
Does the tax lien have any impact on the dischargeability of tax debts?
In case you are wondering why this judgment-proof client, who is receiving
SSI and has no property, wants to file BK . . . He was told by the
subsidized housing landlord that tax liens impair his eligibility for
subsidized housing.
