discharge the debt. The discharge will only apply to prepetition debts.

Client filed under Chapter 7 as a consumer. After filing, she was committed (against her will) to a hospital for psychiatric observation for 48-hours resulting in a new $20k hospital bill. This has occurred prior to the 341 meeting.
Am I correct that I can simply amend the schedules to reflect the new bill? If so, is there any uncertainty in that outcome? It also seems quite easy to let the case be dismissed and then to refile.
