I agree with Frank and Desiree that most title companies require a certified copy of the 522f to be recorded in the county recorder's office.
The biggest difference these days is that the red ribbon has been replaced with a gold sticker and the little brass ringlet has been replaced with a staple - both of these changes make it much easier to make file copies.

Hi Everyone,

I know Im dating myself here by asking this question, but Ivalidate the lien stripping of a 522f.

It used to be you had to get a Certified Copy which was a real pretty piece of paper with a red bow wrapped around it using a brass islet. Then you (or an attorney service) ran it down to Norwalk and filed it.

It now seems like an obsolete process when a title co. attorney or paralegal can just look it up on PACER.

Does anyone know what the title companies want?

On my last lien strip (3 months ago), we filed a certified copy in Norwalk.

Hi Everyone,
I know I'm dating myself here by asking this question, but I'm wondering if anyone knows the current protocol title companies use to validate the lien stripping of a 522f.
