Mark,
One of my staff members went to efile training this morning and she
says that you can still use whatever software program you are
currently using--Best Case, BK Pro, etc--and then convert the forms
into pdf and then use Adobe Acrobat to send the forms to the Court.

documents, including Chapter 7 petitions, are soon going to become
mandatory. While this in and of itself is not a bad thing, the
unusual requirements of this district are. Mainly you will be
required to use online forms provided by the Court, immediately
rendering your bankruptcy software a sunk cost. All the bells and
whistles you have with your programs (such as auto-filling of
creditor address information ,calculations, etc.): Gone. Ability to
go back to your petition and change everything over to a Ch. 13:
Gone. Ability to amend schedules by making changes to information
you already have in your forms (with your exemption analysis, etc.):
Gone. This is a real problem. I am only scratching the surface.
Every other jurisdiction that I know of using e-filing allows you to
use your existing bankruptcy software to create a .pdf file and just
submit that. That would be fine, but for some reason--to my
knowledge--this district has decided to be different and complicate
things.
