Effective dates for provisions

As you probably know, enactment of the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention
and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 appears imminent. (The House is
scheduled to take up the Senate bill [S.256] during the week of April
4.) While the new law would be effective, in general, 180 days after
passage, a number of provisions would become effective immediately,
and others would become effective on other dates sooner than 180 days
after passage. The Commercial Law League of America, on its website,
has a useful recap of the various effective dates. You can retrieve
