Homestead Exemption Proceeds

HR 1853 died in the appropriations committee. This was the bill that
intended to do away with the 6 month reinvestment rule, among others.
The appropriations committee is chaired by Assemblyman Gatto of
Burbank/Glendale
In my opinion, we need to start educating these legislators of the harm
done to our clients by these rules.

Does anyone know what happened to the proposed amendments to the
exemptions contained at the end of that article just posted by Peter? Is
this the pending exemption bill that Dennis was referring to?

You're right. Lapse of judgment on my part. I apologize.

Didn"t Judge Ahart opine that this outcome was only for a declared homestead? That is a homestead recorded at the Co. recorder, prepetition?
I'd like to read that article again, can anyone post it?

yes, although, I am told there is a new exemptions bill pending to fix this. Probably won't be retroactive.
