LOU and Judges Copies of proposed orders=20

I'm confused by your terminology. The copy that we always put into the Judge's
box, isn't that the correct method?

Consistent with what you heard at the OCBF seminar, the LBR and what I heard
last week at the OCBA BK Meeting, "courtesy copies" are not needed and aretrashed. A "JUDGE'S COPY" is required, not a "Chamber's Copy" or courtesy copy.

Subject: [cdcbaa] LOU and Judges Copies of proposed orders
I just came from an OCBF seminar here in Orange County that was given by the
clerks. The topic was basically, how to get your orders entered. So theypointed out some of the more common things lawyers do to slow the clerks down.
They said that a courtesy copy of an Order did not need to be provided to the
judges. When questioned, they said this was district wide and that the local
rules would be amended in June to reflect this. But we did not need to provide
them now, as they are merely recycled.
Others at the seminar seemed as surprised as I did. Has anyone else heard this
before and I am just the last to know?
