This would be great. But isn't there some sort of BK code limitation on the max exemption for BK purposes? I recall something that was intended to limit the high exemption bstates like Florida, so how would this all dovetail in a BK?Thanks.

| LEGISLATIVE ALERT:CA SENATE BILL 308 Dear California NACBA Member:
You are being contacted regarding NACBA's urgent need for you to express your strong support for legislation now moving through Californias State Senate. SB 308 would increase Californias state homestead exemption to $300,000 (across the board) and make several other important improvements for Californians in financial distress and bankruptcy attorneys who serve them. A copy of the legislation, introduced by Senator Bob Wieckowski, can be foundHERE. NACBA has endorsed this proposal, and the organizations detailed letter of support is attachedHERE for your review. We really need to galvanize support for the bill in the very short term, as it is scheduled to come up for a vote on the CA Senate floor as soon asTHIS Friday, May 22nd.
The best way to show your support for this legislation is to weigh in with your State Senators by submitting a letterAS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Here are detailed instructions for doing so: 1.Visithttp://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/ and enter your HOME address to determine who your CA state Senator is. 2.Review the following linked document, atemplate letter of support, CA AB 308 Attorney Letter of Support template. Please address your letter to your Senator and fill in additional fields highlighted in yellow. **ALSO BE SURE TO PUT YOUR LETTER ON FIRM/PRACTICE LETTERHEAD** This is very important. This letter is intended as a guide, please refine as you see fit. 3.Submit your letter via email or fax. To fax, please refer to the fax number listed on your State Senators website. 4.To email your letter (recommended), please refer to the chartbelow for your Senatoris email address format:Firstname.Lastname@sen.ca.gov 5.Please also copy Julie Seger (jseger@hastingsgroup.com) and Heather Resetarits (heather.resetarits@sen.ca.gov) on your letter submission so we can track which Senators have been contacted and by whom. 6.If you have any questions or difficulties with identifying your Senator or sending your letter to their office, please contact Julie atjseger@hastingsgroup.com who will be happy to assist.
