Dear Colleagues!
Recently, Judge Bason lamented that his chambers has been receiving too many late filed documents for matters that are on calendar. Based on this, he advised the Bar that in the future, any late filed documents MUST include a REASON WHY THE DOCUMENT WAS FILED LATE and WHY THE COURT SHOULD EXCUSE Its untimeliness. The Court noted that it may start ruling that the document will not be considered due to its lack of timeliness. FYI.
Also, the Court has been receiving an inordinate amount of last minute requests for telephonic appearances. Again, Judge Bason advised the Bar that any late requests to appear telephonically MUST include a REASON WHY THE REQUEST IS BEING MADE SO LATE and WHY THE COURT SHOULD EXCUSE THE LATENESS. The Court noted that it may start denying unreasonably late and/or unexcusably late requests to appear telephonically. FYI.
