BK and Law Students
Well, the bar does ask about whether or not the applicant has filed a
bankruptcy case. However, whether it has any adverse impact on passing the
moral character test depends on whether there is any action within it that
goes to moral character -- such as a 523 complaint based on fraud, etc.
However, that information is already relevant to other parts of the moral
character analysis. The fact that the applicant filed for bankruptcy
protection itself should not be relevant in and of itself.
