As some of you already know, doing debt negotiations is simply not possible
at the regular hourly rates we charge as attorneys. Further, there is no
way to gauge the honesty and reliability of the many debt negotiation
services who are advertising on the radio and television. My solution to
this problem was to find a very honest and reliable person and teach her how
to do this business.
Debbie Tyrell has been doing debt negotiations for my non-bankruptcy clients
for more than 6 months and she is very good at it. She can provide you with
statistics regarding her success rate. She is looking for more business and
would welcome any referrals. She charges $50/hour. At that rate, she
cannot afford to pay referral fees, but your clients would be getting a good
service from an honest and reliable person and a good price.
What prompted this email is that Debbie is also interested in doing the 2nd
mortgage negotiations. She has not done them before, but they are a logical
extension of what she has already been doing.
In anticipation of the wisecracks: I do NOT get a kickback and I own no part
of her debt negotiation business.
