An extremely articulate and convincing argument was presented at the
Judge's Conference in Lugana Nigel this past Friday by Eric Clark for an
increase in the RARA fees. The panel also included Peter Anderson and
Kathy Dockery. The judges have taken it under submission, the Chapter
13 committee will discuss and we will probably hear something within 6
months.

Chapter 13 Attorneys:
I have been doing an inordinate amount of Chapter 13 work in the last
two years, and I usually charge the RARA amount. In one or two
extraordinary circumstances I have done a fee application instead and it
was granted. Those were cases where the additional work and benefit to
the estate were obvious.
However, I am getting some cases that even at the drawing board are just
convoluted and difficult. Yet it can be because of the way SCE does its
paychecks, for example, and very peculiar client situations that would
be difficult to communicate in a fee application. It just doesn't seem
like some of the cases are worth doing for $4K.
I thought I heard a rumor that we may get an increase in the RARA
amount. Is that true? How would we go about getting the RARA amount
increased?
