EZ filing survey
I have no problems with EZ Filing and have found their Tech Support people to be pretty responsive. I always check the box to make sure the non-debtor spouse does not appear on the Petition, only in Schedule H, and have not had a problem. As for Pat's three questions, my answers are the same as Hale's.

Problem: When filing a married person without their spouse, the voluntarypetition window brings up a tab for non-debtor spouse. EZfiling has
explained to me that this tab only shows for commun ity property jurisdictions.
I have divined from my discussions with them that it is there so that thenonfiling spouses name and info will flow through to the means test and Sch
I. There is a box to check in the lower left corner of the non-debtor
spouse tab that says Include ONLY on Schedule H (Codebtors). If this box is
not checked, the non-filing spouses name shows on the petition as Joint
Debtor!
Q1: Have you ever filed a case for a married person but not the spouse
where you intentionally listed the nonfiling spouse on the petition?
Q2: Will you ever filed a case for a married person but not the spouse
where you intentionally list the nonfiling spouse on the petition?
Q3: In cases where you are filing for only one spouse, would like EZ
filing to make their system default to be that the nonfiling spousenot show on the petition ?

My gripe with EZFiling is that if you have a name with no address, they just omit it from the mailing list without flagging it; I think you have to go into the diagnostic report to find omitted or incorrect addresses.

Pat, I have had the exact same problem, and eventually learned of the exact same fix, which wasn't a biggie at the time (although it was annoying and after their help desk hours).
qi yes
q2 probably
q3: would be fine with me.
Don't you have to list the non-filing spouse name on the Statement of Financial Affairs anyway?

We use it and like it, but the software definitely has quirks, as they all do. I usually set it up as a single, file it, then change the tab. Only work around otherwise it puts stuff on the voluntary petition which is a paid. For question 2, absolutely not. For 3, obviously.
