Just a practice reminder for any of you who file cases outside of
our lovely central district. Other jurisdictions, (such as the
northern district, santa rosa division) adhere very strictly to the
requirements of Rule 4002 (and others, I'm sure). Specifically,
debtors must provide copies of ALL attachments to the federal income
tax return and redact the SS number on all documents submitted to
the Trustee. Down here, I get yelled at by the Trustees if I
redact the SS number and I haven't had any trustee ask for W-2 forms
or other attachments.
Another part of that Rule is that debtors must bring with them to
the 341a meeting statements showing amounts on deposit in each bank
account on the date the case was filed, and evidence of current
income (most recent paystub).
Anyway, just thought I'd remind everyone of this. I just got an
extremely condescending e-mail from a Trustee up there about my
apparent failure at being a good debtor's counsel.
