The changes in Local Rule 1007-2 affect preparation of the Creditors'
Matrix, so it might be called "The Matrix: Reloaded" or "The Matrix
Revolutions."
The first change concerns cases with more than 100 creditors or equity
holders. Since most consumer bankruptcy cases don't meet fit within these
parameters, it is of little significance.
In any event, if you have such a monster, there are two significant changes:
1. The petition no longer need contain a statement on the petition or
conversion order stating that there are more than 100 such entities.
2. The rule now requires submission in a court-approved electronic
format. The former rule referred to a "personal computer-readable
diskette," a quaint device that has been largely displaced by CD-ROM's. To
allow the court to keep pace with technological change without changing the
Local Rules, notices of what the court-approved format is will be on the
court's web site.
If you are into filing cases "electronically," you will not need to file a
"hard" copy of the Master Mailing List.
