boycotting West Group

I use Loislaw.com for my bankruptcy database and use Lexis on a per
matter basis for other things. I have many of the Central District
Forms converted to WordPerfect and have created my own database of
merge documents that I can use and update when the District updates.
Look for my forms online soon!
I also had a similar issue with West Group, and when their attorneys
from the midwest threatened that I wouild never have access to
another database, I responded with an unfair business practices and
unfair competition letter that I copied the California Attorney
General on. I strongly believe that with only two legal databases
available - West and Lexis, and both being owned by foreign
companies, our esteemed Federal Anti-trust laws have screwed the
pooch. Every court and every state and federal office has both, and
probably at some discount, so why would our elected officials or the
high commander in charge of preserving competition give a rat's @#$
%! It seems to me that before the California voters eliminated the
private attorney general statute and the Pres. signed away the Class
Action option, we may have had a good case to break up both West and
Lexis, but who knows now!!
Just a few thoughts on a Sunday afternoon.

I use Lexis/Nexus and as for local bankruptcy forms, call me cheap
but I use the typeable local rule bankruptcy forms on the Central
District website. Again, you can type on them and they are always up
to date.

The West billing/accounting department sucks. For several months, we
were getting bills with incorrect amounts. Every time you call their
billing department, you always get a different person and if they ever
assure you that the problem has been corrected, DO NOT COUNT ON IT AS IT
WON'T BE. You always need to make sure your bills are correct for
items/services ordered because lots of times, you are billed for items
already paid for and the bills come with no explanation whatsoever. God
knows how many hours of wasted time was spent dealing with these people.
After months of trying to get the problem corrected, it looked like they
finally took care of it.
But not for long. Last month, I got another bill for items that were
already paid for months ago. I am just waiting for my Westlaw research
subscription to expire in a couple of months. I'll never do business
with West again.
Save yourself the aggravation and frustration. Mark, I'm joining your
boycott.

I know this will be of little effect in the grand scheme of things, but West screwed me over big time by charging me for an extra 3 months on an advertising campaign. Their representative had assured me that the term would expire after the pre-paid 12 months, but it didn't.
Anyway, long story short, I've spent the last several months making phone calls, writing letters to no avail. The coupe de grace was that I got a call today from their office saying they wanted to schedule a time for my new rep to meet with me to discuss new ways for me to spend money with West. When I told her I was no longer interested in doing business with West until this issue was resolved, she said "Great, does that mean you will be cancelling all your subscriptions with us then?" To which I answered "yes, most likely." She cheerily said "great, thank you." and hung up the phone.
So....my question for you folks is, I need to change over certain subscriptions and wonder what other companies offer the same publications/services that any of you are using.
1. Annual Bankruptcy Code, Rules and Forms book (I recall Norton used to have one?)
2. California Code of Civil Procedure Book
3. Legal Solutions local central district forms
Those are my main ongoing subscriptions. Any alternatives would be welcomed.
