On Thursday, April 21, 2005, starting at 6:30 pm, at Marie Callenders
on the Old Road, the Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association is holding
its monthly dinner meeting and MCLE seminar. Me (Lou Esbin) and Tom
Coleman are putting on a one hour program on the changes in the law.
We will try to focus on counseling clients in the coming months on
whether they are better off now or after. It is really geared to our
members who do not practice, but should know the issues for their
clients. I will focus on the consumer side, Tom on the Chapter 11
side. Anyone who has a Santa Clarita based practice or who lives in
Santa Clarita can join the Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association. If
you need a Membership Application, please contact me. I am the
treasurer.
REMINDER, WE NEED MEMBERS FOR THE RULES AND PRACTICES COMMITTEE. SO
FAR WE HAVE TWO!!

How about sending them an email inquiry; or call? They've been saying they
are going to change the content; just don't know what they decided on.

I don't know about NACBA. but many local groups are responding to the amenments.
On May 9th, Financial Lawyers, LA Bankr. Forum, LACBA and the Bankr. Section of the BHBA are co-sponsoring an event: watch for the official announcement as to panelists, but the May 9th date is firm.

Does anyone know FOR A FACT that the conference schedule is changed
to strictly discuss the new bankruptcy code? I've checked the NACBA
website but it still list the same schedule as listed in the brosure.
I'm going to sign up immediately if the discussion sessions are
aimed primarily at the new code.
