Equitable Interests
Apples and oranges. Debtor is on the car title. Debtor is not on the deed.
Paying rent does not give any renter an equitable interest in an owner's
property. Also, if debtor is on the car title she has legal interest in the
car. The lender merely has a lien on the vehicle and recourse rights
against the cosigner.
